Reflection and Inspiration for Leaders

“You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen, simply wait, be quiet, still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked, it has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.” Franz Kafka

This beautiful quote points to the hope and inspiration one can uncover inside of reflection or meditation time. It might seem like you are doing nothing and nothing is happening when you take a leisurely walk or sit quietly by the trees or ocean, but actually if you allow yourself the space for new thoughts to come into being, a quantum leap in your thinking and your life is a possible result.

One activity that distinguishes leaders is that they take the time to reflect on their vision, to make adjustments, to become aware of where they are on the path and what is needed going forward.

What would you like to do in the next few days to give yourself some reflection time?

What is your experience of taking reflection time in the past, and a realization or creative impulse that came alive for you?
